Project Consultation
We work with your project team during the early stages of commercial and retail project planning, permitting, and entitlements. By engaging at this early stage, we can help our clients streamline the eventual permitting and approval processes while maximizing the signage opportunities for your project.
Branding and Design
Our experienced designers engage with our clients’ marketing teams to truly optimize exterior and interior signage and graphics, whether for commercial, retail, or professional facilities. We assist with sizing, placement, color, and contrast while working with you to ensure that the finished project fully and accurately reflects the aesthetic of your business and brand.
Permitting
Starfish Signs & Graphics is a fully licensed electrical sign contractor (CA 1005307). We obtain City permits for all signs where required. Based on our years of experience, we have significant knowledge of sign ordinances and permit requirements for many Southern California cities. Our approach has always been to build collaborative and professional relationships with City Planning and Building Departments. With that experience, we have a very high success rate of obtaining permits in a timely fashion, even for complex projects such as those involving historical properties.
Master Sign Programs
Working with building owners and property management companies, we have written many Master Sign Programs for new developments and helped our clients obtain approvals for modified MSPs when required. We are familiar with the steps involved and are experienced in preparing all drawings and application documents needed to make this a seamless process.
Compliance Services
ADA signage compliance is more complex than many building owners and property managers realize, and the penalties for non-compliant signs can be significant. We have extensive experience designing and fabricating ADA compliant signage that meets all the detailed requirements of the law, while still reflecting the design aesthetic that matters to your business or building.
Sign Service and Repairs
In addition to building and installing new signs, we are often called upon to repair non-illuminating or partially illuminating signs. Our installation team is skilled at quickly diagnosing issues and providing accurate and cost-effective estimates for sign repairs. Associated with our repair work, we can often upgrade older neon or fluorescent-illuminated signs to LED illumination. Those upgrades typically result in brighter, more legible signs and a significant reduction in energy usage and maintenance costs.
