The new Orange County Sheriff’s Department located in Lake Forest California had its ribbon cutting ceremony on May 13th 2015. The event was attended by several City Council members, community residents, business persons, and of course Sheriffs and Deputies. This new Sheriff’s Department substation will serve the cities in South-East Orange County, including Rancho Santa Margarita, Foothill Ranch, Mission Viejo, and Lake Forest. This new substation will reduce response times that previously took longer than 45 minutes from the Aliso Viejo Sheriff’s Station.

Starfish Signs & Graphics designed, built and installed the building, monument and lobby signs, and we were there to witness the opening of this new substation. The Sheriff’s Department leadership recognized Starfish Signs Graphics, and commented on our excellent work.

Monument Sign on Rancho Parkway in Lake Forest

When you approach the Substation you will notice this large monument sign on the side of the road. This monument was created and assembled by Starfish Signs & Graphics using a concrete base with stacked stone veneer and acrylic letters and graphics on a 10 foot wide aluminum cabinet. This monument will brand the space, and assist residents and citizens in locating the entrance to the Sheriff’s Station.

This building sign of the OCSD was also developed by Starfish Signs & Graphics. This building sign is large, clean, and prominent. These letters are fabricated aluminum reverse-pan channel letters, with a satin black finish. The black letters and silver building fascia make the sign very noticeable from a distance.

Once inside the building you see several lobby signs that Starfish created for the OCSD interior. There are two of these interior signs, both intended to represent the OCSD’s ‘challenge coin’. The graphics were printed on vinyl, applied to acrylic panels, and mounted with standoffs. These signs are symbols of and to the brave men and women who serve and protect the Citizens of Orange County.
